Customs Duties (Exemption) (Amendment No.2) Order 2000
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 13(1) of the Customs Act, the Minister for Finance hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Order may be cited as the Customs Duties (Exemption) (Amendment No.2) Order 2000 and shall come into operation on 1st January 2001.
Miscellaneous amendments
2.  The Customs Duties (Exemption) Order (O 5) is amended —
(a)by deleting the words “CUSTOMS DUTIES” in the 3rd line and substituting the words “CUSTOMS (DUTIES)”;
(b)by deleting the words “Customs Duties” in paragraph 1 and substituting the words “Customs (Duties)”;
(c)by inserting, immediately after the words “customs duty” in paragraph 3(1), the words “and excise duty”;
(d)by deleting the words “customs duty” wherever they appear in the following lines of the fourth column of Part I of the Schedule with respect to the following item numbers of the first column thereof and substituting in each case the words “excise duty”:
Lines 21 (item 2), 10 (item 3), 17 (item 4), 22 (item 4), 16 (item 5), 14 (item 8), 11 (item 14), 5 (item 15), 7 (item 25), 12 (item 26), 6 (item 27), 26 (item 29), 14 (item 31), 6 (item 32), 6 (item 33), 8 (item 33), 18 and 19 (item 34), 23 (item 34), 21 (item 40), 23 (item 40), 12 (item 41) and 18 (item 41);
(e)by deleting the word “customs” in the 7th line of the fourth column of Part I of the Schedule with respect to item 23 in the first column thereof; and
(f)by deleting the word “customs” in the 10th and in the 20th lines of the third column of Part I of the Schedule with respect to item 30 in the first column thereof.
Consequential amendment
3.  The reference to the Customs Duties (Exemption) Order in the definitions of “civilian component” and “dependant” in paragraph 2 of the International Arrangements Relief Notification (Cap.117A, N 1) shall be read as a reference to the Customs (Duties) (Exemption) Order.
