(Sentosa Development Corporation —
Exemption) Notification 2021
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 24 of the Common Gaming Houses Act, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Notification:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Notification is the Common Gaming Houses (Sentosa Development Corporation — Exemption) Notification 2021 and comes into operation on 25 August 2021.
Definitions
2.  In this Notification —
“lottery” means the scratch card game in which a person may participate by presenting proof of purchase of a qualifying transaction at a Sentosa Ticketing Counter and redeeming a scratch card from 25 August 2021 to 31 December 2021 (both dates inclusive);
“organiser” means the Sentosa Development Corporation established by section 3 of the Sentosa Development Corporation Act (Cap. 291);
“promotion” means the promotion called “Sentosa SingapoRediscovers Scratch & Win Campaign” that is to be made available from 25 August 2021 to 31 December 2021 (both dates inclusive);
“proof of purchase” means an invoice or a receipt presented either in portable document format (PDF) or in printed form;
“qualifying transaction” means any of the following types of transactions made between 28 June 2021 and 31 December 2021 (both dates inclusive):
(a)any purchase of any goods or services offered on Sentosa Island made wholly or partially by way of redemption of SingapoRediscovers vouchers;
(b)any purchase made at any business establishment on Sentosa Island of any goods or services offered on Sentosa Island;
(c)any purchase made at any Sentosa Ticketing Counter of any goods or services offered on Sentosa Island,
which amounts to at least $30 in a single transaction.
Exemption
3.—(1)  The organiser is exempt from the provisions of the Act in respect of the promotion and the lottery.
(2)  The exemption is subject to compliance by the organiser with the conditions specified in the Schedule.
