Electrical Workers and Contractors Licensing Act

Electrical Workers and Contractors Licensing Regulations 1997
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 13 of the Electrical Workers and Contractors Licensing Act, the Public Utilities Board, with the approval of the Minister for Trade and Industry, hereby makes the following Regulations:
PART I
PRELIMINARY
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Electrical Workers and Contractors Licensing Regulations 1997 and shall come into operation on 1st March 1997.
Definitions
2.  In these Regulations, unless the context otherwise requires —
“authorised officer” means an officer of the Board authorised by the Board to act on its behalf;
“electrical installation” has the same meaning as in the Public Utilities Act (Cap. 261);
“electricity supplier” means a private electricity supplier or a public electricity supplier, as the case may be;
“holder of a licence” means a holder of a valid licence granted under Part II or III;
“private electricity supplier” has the same meaning as in section 49(4) of the Public Utilities Act;
“public electricity supplier” has the same meaning as in the Public Utilities Act;
“Register” means the Electrical Workers’ Register or the Electrical Contractors’ Register, as the case may be.
