Passports Regulations 2007

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 60 of the Passports Act 2007, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Regulations:

PART I

PRELIMINARY

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Passports Regulations 2007 and shall come into operation on 1st December 2007.

Definitions

2. In these Regulations, unless the context otherwise requires —

“child” means a person who is below 16 years of age;

“fingerprint”, in relation to an individual, means a record (in any form and produced by any method) of the skin pattern and other physical characteristics or features of any of his thumbs or fingers;

“photograph” includes an image in the likeness of a photograph reproduced from data acquired by electronic, photographic or similar means and stored by means of a computer or other like instrument.
