(Amendment) Rules 2024

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 104 and 115A of the Patents Act 1994, the Minister for Law makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Patents (Patent Agents) (Amendment) Rules 2024 and come into operation on 16 August 2024.

Amendment of rule 4

2. In the Patents (Patent Agents) Rules 2001 (G.N. No. S 645/2001) (called in these Rules the principal Rules), in rule 4(1) and (3)(b), replace “in the journal” with “on the Office’s Internet website at http://www.ipos.gov.sg”.

Amendment of rule 16

3. In the principal Rules, in rule 16, after paragraph (8), insert —

“(9) In this rule, “Minister” includes the Permanent Secretary to the Ministry for which the Minister is responsible.”.

Amendment of rule 17

4. In the principal Rules, in rule 17(1)(c), replace “section 124(5)(a), (b), (c), (d), (e), (f), (h), (i), (k), (l) or (m) of the Bankruptcy Act (Cap. 20)” with “section 394(5)(a), (b), (c), (d), (e), (f), (h), (i), (k) or (l) of the Insolvency, Restructuring and Dissolution Act 2018”.
