Electricity Act

Electricity (Electricity Transmission Licence) (Exemption) Order 2004
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 8 of the Electricity Act, the Energy Market Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Trade and Industry, hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Order may be cited as the Electricity (Electricity Transmission Licence) (Exemption) Order 2004 and shall come into operation on 1st November 2004.
Exemption from section 6 (1) (b) of Act
2.  Section 6(1)(b) of the Act shall not apply to PSA Corporation Ltd in respect of the transmission of electricity from its premises set out in the first column of the Schedule to the premises of the company set out in the second column thereof, subject to the following conditions:
(a)PSA Corporation Ltd shall not register itself as a market participant of the transmission licensee class as stipulated in the market rules;
(b)PSA Corporation Ltd shall not allow any generating unit, other than a standby generating unit which is used solely to provide backup power in the event of interruption of electricity supply from the transmission system, to be connected to its electrical installation; and
(c)PSA Corporation Ltd shall comply with any relevant code of practice and direction issued, approved or given by the Authority under sections 16 and 17 of the Act, respectively.
