Central Provident Fund
(Prescribed Amount for Medisave Account)
(Amendment) Regulations 2001
In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 16, 69 and 77(1)(j) of the Central Provident Fund Act, the Minister for Manpower, after consultation with the Central Provident Fund Board, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Central Provident Fund (Prescribed Amount for Medisave Account) (Amendment) Regulations 2001 and shall come into operation on 1st January 2002.
Amendment of regulation 4
2.  The Central Provident Fund (Prescribed Amount for Medisave Account) Regulations 2001 (G.N. No. S 332/2001) are amended by renumbering regulation 4 as paragraph (1) of that regulation, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following paragraphs:
(2)  Notwithstanding paragraph (1), a member of the Fund may apply to the Minister for Health to maintain half of the prescribed amount and such application shall be irrevocable.
(3)  The Minister for Health may, in granting any approval under paragraph (1), impose such terms and conditions as he considers appropriate.”.
