(Amendment) Rules 2024

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 46 of the Air Navigation Act 1966, the Minister for Transport makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) These Rules are the Air Navigation (Voluntary Reporting) (Amendment) Rules 2024 and, except for rule 4, come into operation on 1 September 2024.

(2) Rule 4 is deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.

Amendment of rule 4

2. In the Air Navigation (Voluntary Reporting) Rules 2020 (G.N. No. S 592/2020) (called in these Rules the principal Rules), in rule 4, replace “KPMG Services Pte. Ltd” with “Alton Aviation Consultancy Singapore Private Limited”.

Amendment of rule 8

3. In the principal Rules, in rule 8, replace paragraph (1) with —

“(1) A report about an aviation safety matter that is permitted by these Rules to be made to a designated person must be made in writing, which must be —

(a)	in the appropriate form;
(b)	completed in the English language and in accordance with such directions as may be specified in the appropriate form; and
(c)	given to the designated person in a manner described in paragraph (3).”.

Replacement of references to Act provisions because of 2020 Revised Edition

4. In the principal Rules —

(a)

in the following provisions, replace “section 12” with “section 45”:

Rule 2, definition of “protected information”

Rule 6(2)

Rule 7;

(b)

in the following provisions, replace “section 12A” with “section 46”:

Rule 2, definition of “Tell Sarah scheme”

Rule 3(1);

(c)

in the following provisions, replace “section 29C” with “section 86”:

Rule 7(a)

Rule 11(1) and (2);

(d)

in rule 10(4)(b), replace “section 4O(1)” with “section 29(1)”;

(e)

in the following provisions, replace “section 12C(4)” with “section 48(4)”:

Rule 13

Rule 15(1);

(f)

in rule 14(1)(b), replace “section 12C(2)” with “section 48(2)”; and

(g)

in rule 16(a), replace “section 4O” with “section 29”.
