Prevention of Pollution of the Sea Act

Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Hazardous and Noxious Substances Pollution Preparedness, Response and Co-operation) (Amendment) Regulations 2006
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 34 of the Prevention of Pollution of the Sea Act, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Transport, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Hazardous and Noxious Substances Pollution Preparedness, Response and Co-operation) (Amendment) Regulations 2006 and shall come into operation on 1st January 2007.
Amendment of regulation 8
2.  Regulation 8 of the Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Hazardous and Noxious Substances Pollution Preparedness, Response and Co-operation) Regulations 2004 (G.N. No. S 120/2004) is amended by deleting paragraph (2) and substituting the following paragraphs:
(2)  The emergency plan in paragraph (1) shall fulfil the requirements of regulation 17 of Annex II to the Convention or the Emergency Response Procedures for Ships Carrying Dangerous Goods of the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, as the case may be.
(3)  In this regulation, “Annex II” means Annex II to the Convention which contains regulations for the control of noxious liquid substances in bulk and which is set out in the First Schedule to the Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Noxious Liquid Substances in Bulk) Regulations 2006 (G.N. No. S 686/2006).”.
