Building Maintenance and Strata Management Act 2004

Building Maintenance and Strata Management (Lift and Building Maintenance) (Amendment) Regulations 2007
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 136 of the Building Maintenance and Strata Management Act 2004, the Minister for National Development hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Building Maintenance and Strata Management (Lift and Building Maintenance) (Amendment) Regulations 2007 and shall come into operation on 1st March 2007.
Amendment of regulation 13
2.  Regulation 13(1) of the Building Maintenance and Strata Management (Lift and Building Maintenance) Regulations 2005 (G.N. No. S 194/2005) is amended by deleting the words “6 years” in sub-paragraphs (a) and (b) and substituting in each case the words “5 years”.
Transitional provision
3.—(1)  The amendment to the record-keeping period made by regulation 2 shall apply in relation to any maintenance record required to be kept under regulation 13 of the Building Maintenance and Strata Management (Lift and Building Maintenance) Regulations 2005, whether the obligation to keep such maintenance record first arises before, on or after 1st March 2007.
(2)  Paragraph (1) shall not apply in relation to any maintenance record if the period for which it is to be kept under regulation 13 of the Building Maintenance and Strata Management (Lift and Building Maintenance) Regulations 2005 in force immediately before 1st March 2007 has expired by that date.
