Central Provident Fund (Approved Housing Schemes) (Amendment) Regulations 2008

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77(1)(h) of the Central Provident Fund Act, Mr Gan Kim Yong, Senior Minister of State, charged with the responsibility of the Minister for Manpower, after consulting with the Central Provident Fund Board, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Central Provident Fund (Approved Housing Schemes) (Amendment) Regulations 2008 and shall come into operation on 1st January 2009.

Amendment of regulation 13

2. Regulation 13 of the Central Provident Fund (Approved Housing Schemes) Regulations (Rg 12) (referred to in these Regulations as the principal Regulations) is amended —

(a)	by deleting “(6), (8),” in paragraph (5);
(b)	by deleting the words “, including the whole or such part, as the Board may determine, of any interest that would have been payable thereon” in paragraph (5)(ii)(A);
(c)	by deleting paragraphs (6) to (9); and
(d)	by deleting the words “(3) to (9)” in paragraph (10) and substituting the words “(3), (4) and (5)”.

Amendment of regulation 14

3. Regulation 14 of the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “paragraphs (5), (7) and (9)” in paragraph (4) and substituting the words “paragraph (9)”;
(b)	by deleting the words “, including any interest that would have accrued thereto” in paragraph (4)(ii)(A);
(c)	by deleting paragraphs (5) to (8);
(d)	by deleting the words “(3) to (8)” in paragraph (9) and substituting the words “(3) and (4)”; and
(e)	by deleting the words “(3) to (9)” in paragraph (b)(i) of the definition of “relevant amount” in paragraph (10) and substituting the words “(3), (4) and (9)”.

Amendment of regulation 14A

4. Regulation 14A(5) of the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)	by inserting, at the end of sub-paragraph (c)(i), the word “and”;
(b)	by deleting sub-paragraph (c)(ii);
(c)	by deleting the words “, including the whole or such part, as the Board may determine, of any interest that would have been payable thereon” in sub-paragraph (c)(A); and
(d)	by deleting sub-paragraphs (d) to (g). [G.N. Nos. S 255/2007; S507/2007; S 706/2007]
