Central Provident Fund Act
(Chapter 36)
Central Provident Fund (Medishield Scheme) (Amendment No. 4) Regulations 2002
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 57 of the Central Provident Fund Act, the Minister for Manpower hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Central Provident Fund (MediShield Scheme) (Amendment No. 4) Regulations 2002 and shall come into operation on 1st January 2003.
Amendment of regulation 2
2.  Regulation 2(1) of the Central Provident Fund (MediShield Scheme) Regulations (Rg 20) is amended —
(a)by deleting the definition of “dependant” and substituting the following definition:
“ “dependant”, in relation to a member, means —
(a)a member’s spouse, child, parent, or grandparent; or
(b)any other person who is dependent on the member and whom the Board may approve for the purpose of these Regulations;”; and
(b)by deleting the words “section 29” in the definition of “incapacitated” and substituting the words “section 28”.
Amendment of Third Schedule
3.  The Third Schedule to the Central Provident Fund (MediShield Scheme) Regulations is amended by deleting the words “Tables under item 5 of the Schedule to the Government Hospitals (Fees) Rules (Cap. 119, R 1)” in item 3 of Parts I and II and substituting in each case the words “Tables of Surgical Operations for Medisave Scheme issued by the Ministry of Health”.
