(Amendment) Regulations 2024

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77(1) of the Central Provident Fund Act 1953, the Minister for Manpower, after consulting with the Central Provident Fund Board, makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) These Regulations are the Central Provident Fund (Self‑Employed Persons) (Amendment) Regulations 2024 and, except for regulation 4, come into operation on 15 September 2024.

(2) Regulation 4 is deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.

Deletion of regulations 21 and 22

2. In the Central Provident Fund (Self‑Employed Persons) Regulations (Rg 25) (called in these Regulations the principal Regulations), delete regulations 21 and 22.

Amendment of regulation 23

3. In the principal Regulations, in regulation 23, delete paragraph (1).

Miscellaneous amendments

4. In the principal Regulations —

(a)

in the following provisions, replace “(Cap. 134)” with “1947”:

Regulation 2(1), definitions of “Comptroller” and “notice of assessment”

Regulation 20;

(b)

in the following provisions, after “Income Tax Act”, insert “1947”:

Regulation 2(1), definition of “income”

Regulation 7(3)(b) and (6)(a); and

(c)

in regulation 24(1), replace “section 8 of the National Registration Act (Cap. 201)” with “section 10 of the National Registration Act 1965”.
