Regulations 2020

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 34(1) of the COVID‑19 (Temporary Measures) Act 2020, the Minister for Health makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the COVID‑19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) (Amendment No. 13) Regulations 2020 and come into operation on 29 August 2020.

Amendment of regulation 2

2. Regulation 2(1) of the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020 (G.N. No. S 254/2020) (called in these Regulations the principal Regulations) is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “includes any paper or textile covering” in the definition of “mask” and substituting the words “means any paper, plastic or textile covering solely”; and
(b)	by deleting the words “and cheeks” in the definition of “wear” and substituting the words “, cheeks and chin”.

Amendment of regulation 7

3. Regulation 7(2) of the principal Regulations is amended by inserting, immediately after sub‑paragraph (b), the following sub‑paragraph:

“(ba)

is in the car or cage or on the platform of a passenger or cargo lift installed in or attached to a building or part of a building;”.

Amendment of Part 3 of First Schedule

4. Part 3 of the First Schedule to the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)

by deleting the full-stop at the end of sub‑paragraph (e) of paragraph 3 and substituting a semi‑colon, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following sub‑paragraph:

“(f)

making audible for customers in or around the retail food and drinks establishment any pre-recorded music, speech or sounds at a noise level that exceeds 60 decibels when measured over every period of 5 minutes in any part of the retail food and drinks establishment used by customers for eating or drinking or both.”; and

(b)

by deleting the full-stop at the end of sub‑paragraph (d) of paragraph 5 and substituting a semi-colon, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following sub‑paragraph:

“(e)	paragraph 3(f) insofar as it prohibits making audible for customers in or around the retail food and drinks establishment any pre‑recorded music, speech or sounds at a noise level that exceeds 60 decibels.”.
