(Protection from Harassment)
(Amendment) Rules 2024
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 80 of the Supreme Court of Judicature Act 1969 and all other powers enabling us under any written law, we, the Rules Committee, make the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules are the Supreme Court of Judicature (Protection from Harassment) (Amendment) Rules 2024 and come into operation on 15 October 2024.
Amendment of rule 59A
2.  In the Supreme Court of Judicature (Protection from Harassment) Rules 2021 (G.N. No. S 359/2021) (called in these Rules the principal Rules), in rule 59A —
(a)in paragraph (2)(d), delete “, within the time required by rule 68(2) of those Rules”; and
(b)after paragraph (2), insert —
(3)  The time for service under Order 2, Rule 10 or Rule 12, Order 18 and Order 19 of the Rules of Court on a person mentioned in paragraph (2)(d) is the time required by rule 68(2) of these Rules.”.
Amendment of rule 66A
3.  In the principal Rules, in rule 66A —
(a)in paragraph (2)(d), delete “, within the time required by rule 68(2) of those Rules”; and
(b)after paragraph (2), insert —
(3)  The time for service under Order 2, Rule 10 or Rule 12, Order 18 and Order 19 of the Rules of Court on a person mentioned in paragraph (2)(d) is the time required by rule 68(2) of these Rules.”.
Amendment of rule 69
4.  In the principal Rules, in rule 69(2), after “Where the proper address”, insert “in Singapore”.
Amendment of rule 79
5.  In the principal Rules, in rule 79(1) —
(a)in sub‑paragraph (g), replace the full‑stop at the end with a semi‑colon; and
(b)after sub‑paragraph (g), insert —
(h)for a transfer of PH proceedings (other than a claim under section 11 of the Act) in simplified proceedings from the Protection from Harassment Court to the Family Court — by an application in the appropriate Form in the claim to be transferred filed in the Protection from Harassment Court;
(i)for a transfer of PH proceedings (other than a claim under section 11 of the Act) in standard proceedings from the Protection from Harassment Court to the Family Court — by summons in the cause or matter to be transferred filed in the Protection from Harassment Court.”.
