(Bus or Train Fare Evasion)
(Amendment) Regulations 2024

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 73 of the Public Transport Council Act 1987, the Public Transport Council, with the approval of the Minister for Transport, makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) These Regulations are the Public Transport Council (Bus or Train Fare Evasion) (Amendment) Regulations 2024 and, except for regulation 3, come into operation on 1 October 2024.

(2) Regulation 3 is deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.

Amendment of regulation 4

2. In the Public Transport Council (Bus or Train Fare Evasion) Regulations 2016 (G.N. No. S 82/2016) (called in these Regulations the principal Regulations), in regulation 4(2) —

(a)	in sub‑paragraph (a), replace “https://www.ptc.gov.sg/” with “https://go.gov.sg/penalty‑fee‑services”; and
(b)	in sub‑paragraph (b), replace “addressed to the Council and sent to Penalty Fee Section, c/o 10 Sin Ming Drive, Singapore 575701” with “addressed to the Penalty Fee Section of the Council and sent to the office address of the Council”.

Miscellaneous amendments

3. In the principal Regulations —

(a)

in the following provisions, replace “section 24C(1)” with “section 53(1)”:

Regulation 2 (definition of “penalty fee notice”)

Regulation 3;

(b)

in regulation 4(1) and (2), replace “section 24C(3)” with “section 53(3)”;

(c)

in regulation 5, replace “section 24CA(4)(c)” with “section 54(4)(c)”; and

(d)

in regulation 6(1), replace “section 24CB” with “section 55”.
