Women’s Charter
(Parenting Programme)
(Amendment No. 2) Rules 2024
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 180(1) of the Women’s Charter 1961, the Minister for Social and Family Development makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules are the Women’s Charter (Parenting Programme) (Amendment No. 2) Rules 2024 and come into operation on 15 October 2024.
Amendment of rule 4
2.  In the Women’s Charter (Parenting Programme) Rules 2016 (G.N. No. S 565/2016), in rule 4(2)(b)(i), replace “simplified uncontested hearing track under rule 83(1) of the Family Justice Rules 2014 (G.N. No. S 813/2014)” with “simplified hearing track under Part 2, Rule 8 of the Family Justice (General) Rules 2024 (G.N. No. S 720/2024)”.
Miscellaneous amendments
3.  In the Women’s Charter (Parenting Programme) Rules 2016 —
(a)in the following provisions, replace “a writ for divorce” with “an originating application for divorce”:
Rule 3(a)
Rule 4(1);
(b)in the following provisions, replace “the writ for divorce” wherever it appears with “the originating application for divorce”:
Rule 3(b)
Rule 4(1) and (2)(b);
(c)in rule 4(2), replace “defendant” with “respondent”; and
(d)in rule 4(2)(a), replace “counterclaim” wherever it appears with “cross‑application”.
