(Singapore Airshow 2018)
(Exemption) (No. 2) Order 2018
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 142 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Transport makes the following Order:
Citation
1.  This Order is the Road Traffic (Singapore Airshow 2018) (Exemption) (No. 2) Order 2018.
Definitions
2.  In this Order —
“Airshow” means the event known as the Singapore Airshow 2018 to be held at Changi Exhibition Centre from 6 February 2018 to 11 February 2018 (both dates inclusive);
“Changi Exhibition Centre” means the building located at 9 Aviation Park Road, Singapore 498760;
“chauffeured private hire car” means a motor car that —
(a)does not ply for hire on any road; and
(b)is hired, or made available for hire, under a contract (express or implied) for use as a whole with a driver for the purpose of conveying the hirer, and one or more passengers (if any), in that car;
“exempt company” means the following companies:
(a)the company known as Experia Events Pte. Ltd.;
(b)the company known as Sime Darby Services Private Limited.
Exemption of vehicle
3.  Sections 101, 106 and 107 of the Act, and Parts II and VI of the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) Rules (R 14) do not apply to any vehicle bearing a registration number specified in the Schedule that is used as a chauffeured private hire car during the period between 3 February 2018 and 11 February 2018 (both dates inclusive) for the purpose of the Airshow, if all of the following conditions are satisfied in relation to the vehicle:
(a)the vehicle is used only by the exempt company, or by any individual acting under the direction of the exempt company;
(b)the vehicle displays a label issued by the Registrar in such manner as the Registrar may require;
(c)there is in force, at any time the vehicle is used on any road, a policy of insurance in relation to the use of that vehicle as a chauffeured private hire car, insuring against any liability in respect of the death of or bodily injury sustained by, or property damage suffered by, any person caused by or arising out of the use of that vehicle;
(d)the risk under the policy of insurance mentioned in sub‑paragraph (c) is assumed by an insurer who, at the time of the issuance of the policy, is lawfully carrying on an insurance business in Singapore.
Exemption of driver of exempt vehicle
4.  Section 110(1)(a) of the Act and the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) (Vocational Licences and Conduct of Drivers, Conductors, Trishaw Riders and Passengers) Rules (R 8) do not apply to a driver of a vehicle exempt under paragraph 3.
Exemption of employer
5.  Section 110(1)(b) of the Act does not apply to the employer of a driver of a vehicle exempt under paragraph 3.
