Central Provident Fund (Dependants’
Protection Insurance Scheme — Exemption)
Notification 2013

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 42(2)(d) of the Central Provident Fund Act, Mr Tan Chuan‑Jin, Senior Minister of State, charged with the responsibility of the Minister for Manpower, hereby makes the following Notification:

Citation and commencement

1. This Notification may be cited as the Central Provident Fund (Dependants’ Protection Insurance Scheme — Exemption) Notification 2013 and shall come into operation on 15 December 2013.

Exemption from Scheme

2. For the purposes of section 42(2)(d) of the Act, notwithstanding that any contribution has been paid into the Fund for a member of the Fund, that member shall be exempt from the Scheme if no contribution paid into the Fund before, on or after 15th December 2013 for that member was payable —

(a)	under section 7 of the Act in respect of that member’s wages; or
(b)	pursuant to regulations made under section 77(1)(e) of the Act in respect of that member’s income.

Cancellation

3. The Central Provident Fund (Dependants’ Protection Insurance Scheme — Exemption) Notification (N 9) is cancelled.
