Electric Vehicles Charging
(Exemption) (Amendment) Order 2024
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 92 of the Electric Vehicles Charging Act 2022, the Minister for Transport makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Order is the Electric Vehicles Charging (Exemption) (Amendment) Order 2024 and comes into operation on 1 October 2024.
Amendment of paragraph 13
2.  In the Electric Vehicles Charging (Exemption) Order 2023 (G.N. No. S 794/2023), in paragraph 13 —
(a)in sub‑paragraph (1), replace “employee” with “authorised personnel”; and
(b)replace sub‑paragraph (2) with —
(2)  In this paragraph —
“authorised personnel”, in relation to a person, means any employee, officer or agent of the person who is authorised to act on the person’s behalf;
“relevant activity” means any of the following activities:
(a)modifying or altering an unregistered EV charger;
(b)charging, or allowing to be charged, an electric vehicle using an unregistered EV charger;
(c)installing, or causing to be installed, an unregistered fixed EV charger in Singapore;
(d)using an unregistered EV charger.”.

3.  In the Electric Vehicles Charging (Exemption) Order 2023, after Part 2, insert —

Miscellaneous Exemption
Exemption for undertaking regulated activity using fixed EV charger in vehicle servicing or maintenance workshop
14.  A person who undertakes any regulated activity using any fixed EV charger installed in a vehicle servicing or maintenance workshop is exempt from section 41, if —
(a)the output voltage of the EV charger is less than 23 kilowatts;
(b)the regulated activity is undertaken in connection with the carrying out of any diagnostic test on an electric vehicle or the maintenance or repair of an electric vehicle; and
(c)the person carrying on the business of vehicle servicing or maintenance at the workshop is the registered responsible person for the EV charger.”.
