(Chapter 36)
Central Provident Fund (Medishield Scheme) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2005
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 57 of the Central Provident Fund Act, the Minister for Manpower hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Central Provident Fund (MediShield Scheme) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2005 and shall come into operation on 5th December 2005.
Amendment of regulation 16
2.  Regulation 16(2) of the Central Provident Fund (MediShield Scheme) Regulations 2005 (G.N. No. S 427/2005) is amended by deleting sub-paragraph (c) and substituting the following sub-paragraph:
(c)where the premium for the policy year was paid —
(i)using the Government premium rebate;
(ii)by deducting from the member’s medisave account; or
(iii)in such manner as the Board thinks fit under regulation 8 (1)(b)(ii), (4) or (6) or in accordance with regulation 8 (7),
or by any combination of these modes of payment, the refund shall be paid —
(A)to the Government in cash;
(B)into the member’s medisave account; and
(C)in such mode of payment as the Board thinks fit,
in the proportions in which the premium was paid by the modes of payment referred to in sub-paragraphs (i), (ii) and (iii), respectively.”.
Amendment of regulation 22
3.  Regulation 22(4) of the Central Provident Fund (MediShield Scheme) Regulations 2005 is amended by deleting sub-paragraph (c) and substituting the following sub-paragraph:
(c)where the premium for the policy year was paid —
(i)using the Government premium rebate;
(ii)by deducting from the member’s medisave account; or
(iii)in such manner as the Board thinks fit under regulation 8 (1)(b)(ii), (4) or (6) or in accordance with regulation 8 (7),
or by any combination of these modes of payment, the refund shall be paid —
(A)to the Government in cash;
(B)into the member’s medisave account; and
(C)in such mode of payment as the Board thinks fit,
in the proportions in which the premium was paid by the modes of payment referred to in sub-paragraphs (i), (ii) and (iii), respectively.”.
