(Amendment) Rules 2024

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 136, 150, 166 and 184 of the Legal Profession Act 1966, the Minister for Law makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Legal Profession (Law Practice Entities) (Amendment) Rules 2024 and come into operation on 11 October 2024.

Amendment of rule 78

2. In the Legal Profession (Law Practice Entities) Rules 2015 (G.N. No. S 699/2015) (called in these Rules the principal Rules), in rule 78(2), delete “and on payment of the appropriate fee specified in the First Schedule”.

Amendment of rule 83

3. In the principal Rules, in rule 83 —

(a)	in paragraph (a), replace “; or” at the end with a full‑stop; and
(b)	delete paragraph (b).

Amendment of First Schedule

4. In the principal Rules, in the First Schedule —

(a)	in the Schedule reference, delete “, 78(2)”;
(b)	delete item 23;
(c)	in item 24, in paragraph (a), delete “; or” at the end; and
(d)	in item 24, delete paragraph (b).
