(INVEST Plan) (Amendment No. 2)
Regulations 2020
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Home Affairs Uniformed Services Superannuation Act, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations are the Home Affairs Uniformed Services (INVEST Plan) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2020 and are deemed to have come into operation on 1 September 2020.
Amendment of regulation 26
2.  Regulation 26(4) of the Home Affairs Uniformed Services (INVEST Plan) Regulations (Rg 2) (called in these Regulations the principal Regulations) is amended by deleting the words “Work Injury Compensation Act (Cap. 354), as if he was an employee under that Act and the award was granted to the police officer under that regulation” and substituting the words “Work Injury Compensation Act 2019 (Act 27 of 2019), as if he were an employee under that Act, and the award that was granted to the police officer under regulation 24”.
Amendment of regulation 27
3.  Regulation 27(10) of the principal Regulations is amended by inserting, immediately after the words “Work Injury Compensation Act (Cap. 354)”, the words “as in force before 1 September 2020 or the Work Injury Compensation Act 2019”.
Amendment of regulation 28
4.  Regulation 28 of the principal Regulations is amended —
(a)by deleting the words “Work Injury Compensation Act (Cap. 354)” in paragraphs (5)(a), (9)(A) and (10)(i) and substituting in each case the words “Work Injury Compensation Act 2019”; and
(b)by deleting the words “Work Injury Compensation Act” in paragraphs (6)(ii)(A) and (11) and substituting in each case the words “Work Injury Compensation Act 2019”.
Saving provisions
5.—(1)  Despite regulation 2, regulation 26(4) of the principal Regulations as in force before 1 September 2020 continues to apply to a member mentioned in regulation 26(4) who dies as a result of injuries received before that date, as if the Work Injury Compensation Act 2019 had not been enacted.
(2)  Despite regulation 4 —
(a)regulation 28(5)(a), (9)(A), (10)(i) or (11) of the principal Regulations as in force before 1 September 2020 continues to apply to a police officer mentioned in that regulation whose disablement or disability results from an injury received before that date, as if the Work Injury Compensation Act 2019 had not been enacted; and
(b)regulation 28(6)(ii)(A) of the principal Regulations as in force before 1 September 2020 continues to apply to a police officer mentioned in that regulation who dies within 5 years from an injury received before that date that gave rise to his or her disablement, as if the Work Injury Compensation Act 2019 had not been enacted.
