Building Control (Licensing of Builders)
(Amendment) Regulations 2014

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 29L of the Building Control Act, the Minister for National Development hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Building Control (Licensing of Builders) (Amendment) Regulations 2014 and shall come into operation on 1 January 2015.

Amendment of regulation 17

2. Regulation 17(1) of the Building Control (Licensing of Builders) Regulations 2008 (G.N. No. S 641/2008) (referred to in these Regulations as the principal Regulations) is amended by deleting the words “construction tradesman,” in the definition of “man‑year”.

Deletion of regulation 18

3. Regulation 18 of the principal Regulations is deleted.

Amendment of regulation 19

4. Regulation 19 of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting the words “construction tradesmen or other”.

Amendment of regulation 20

5. Regulation 20 of the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “paragraphs (3) to (6)” in paragraphs (1)(a) and (2)(a) and (b) and substituting in each case the words “paragraphs (3), (4) and (6)”;
(b)	by deleting the words “paragraphs (4) and (5)” in paragraph (3) and substituting the words “paragraph (4)”;
(c)	by deleting sub-paragraphs (c) and (d) of paragraph (3);
(d)	by deleting the words “Subject to paragraph (5), where” in paragraph (4) and substituting the word “Where”;
(e)	by inserting the word “and” at the end of paragraph (4)(a);
(f)	by deleting sub-paragraph (b) of paragraph (4);
(g)	by deleting paragraph (5);
(h)	by deleting the words “paragraph (3), (4) or (5)” in paragraph (6) and substituting the words “paragraph (3) or (4)”; and
(i)	by deleting sub-paragraphs (c), (d) and (e) of paragraph (6).

Amendment of Third Schedule

6. The Third Schedule to the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)	by deleting “18,” in the Schedule reference; and
(b)	by deleting Part IV.
