(Designation of Specified Premises)
(Amendment) Order 2023

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 62A(2) of the Environmental Public Health Act 1987, the National Environment Agency, with the approval of the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) This Order is the Environmental Public Health (Designation of Specified Premises) (Amendment) Order 2023 and, except for paragraph 3, comes into operation on 18 December 2023.

(2) Paragraph 3 is deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.

Amendment of paragraph 2

2. In the Environmental Public Health (Designation of Specified Premises) Order 2021 (G.N. No. S 532/2021), in paragraph 2 —

(a)

after the definition of “adult disability home”, insert —

“ “approved permanent premises” has the meaning given by section 2(1) of the Healthcare Services Act 2020;”;

(b)

replace the definition of “healthcare institution” with —

“ “healthcare institution” means any approved permanent premises for the provision of a licensable healthcare service under a licence granted under the Healthcare Services Act 2020;”; and

(c)

after the definition of “language centre”, insert —

“ “licensable healthcare service” has the meaning given by section 3(1) of the Healthcare Services Act 2020;”.

Miscellaneous amendments

3. In the Environmental Public Health (Designation of Specified Premises) Order 2021, in paragraph 2 —

(a)	in the definition of “early childhood development centre”, delete “(Act 19 of 2017)”;
(b)	in the definition of “Government school”, replace “(Cap. 87)” with “1957”;
(c)	in the definition of “Government‑aided school”, in paragraph (b), delete “Cap. 87,”;
(d)	in the definition of “healthcare institution”, replace “(Cap. 248)” with “1980”;
(e)	in the definition of “home for children and young persons”, replace “(Cap. 38)” with “1993”;
(f)	in the definition of “home for the aged”; replace “(Cap. 126A)” with “1988”;
(g)	in the definition of “independent school”, in paragraph (a), replace “(Cap. 284A)” with “1990”;
(h)	in the definition of “independent school”, in paragraph (b), delete “Cap. 87A,”; and
(i)	in the definition of “welfare home”, replace “(Cap. 78)” with “1989”.
