Animals and Birds (Quarantine) (Amendment) Rules 2000

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 65 and 70 of the Animals and Birds Act, the Minister for National Development hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Animals and Birds (Quarantine) (Amendment) Rules 2000 and shall come into operation on 3rd March 2000.

Deletion and substitution of Schedule

2. The Schedule to the Animals and Birds (Quarantine) Rules (R 6) is deleted and the following Schedule substituted therefor:

“THE SCHEDULE

1. Permit to import, export or tranship animals for commercial purposes

$170 per consignment

2. Permit to import, export or tranship birds or eggs for commercial purposes

$55 per consignment

3. Permit to import, export or tranship animals or birds as personal effects

$50 per permit

4. Permit to import, export or tranship bones, fodder, hides, semen, sera, veterinary biologics or any product of animal or bird or any article or substance that is likely to convey or spread disease, or export or tranship carcasses

$18 per permit

5. Certificate of freedom from disease within Singapore

$12 per certificate

6. Quarantine fees (per day or part thereof):

(a) cats or dogs

$13.50 per animal (with feed)

(b) horses

$26.50 per horse (without feed and care)

$2.65 per head (without feed and care)

(d) sheep and goats

$1.05 per head (without feed and care)

7. Inspection and vaccination of dogs and cats against rabies

$65 per animal

8. Accommodation of animals and birds at Changi Animal and Plant Quarantine Unit

$25 per cat or dog (with feed) or per kennel unit (without feed and care) per day or part thereof

9. Professional service fee

(a) $63 per hour or part thereof

(b) $133 per hour or part thereof (outside office hours or on an urgent basis)

10. Technical service fee

(a) $38 per hour or part thereof

(b) $80 per hour or part thereof (outside office hours or on an urgent basis)

11. Transport of animals for quarantine

$74 per animal per trip.”.
