(Amendment No. 3) Rules 2024

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 93 of the Moneylenders Act 2008, the Minister for Law makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Moneylenders (Amendment No. 3) Rules 2024 and come into operation on 1 January 2025.

Amendment of rule 22B

2. In the Moneylenders Rules 2009 (G.N. No. S 72/2009), in rule 22B(1)(a), replace sub‑paragraph (i) with —

“(i)

whether the applicant —

(A)	is employed or self‑employed;
(B)	is a platform worker within the meaning given by section 5(1) of the Platform Workers Act 2024; or
(C)	is unemployed and is not a platform worker;”.

Amendment of rule 22E

3. In the Moneylenders Rules 2009, in rule 22E(1)(a), replace sub‑paragraph (ii) with —

“(ii)

whether the loan applicant —

(A)	is employed or self‑employed;
(B)	is a platform worker within the meaning given by section 5(1) of the Platform Workers Act 2024; or
(C)	is unemployed and is not a platform worker; and”.
