Road Traffic (Bus Carnival)
(Exemption) Order 2016

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 142 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Order:

Citation

1. This Order is the Road Traffic (Bus Carnival) (Exemption) Order 2016.

Definitions

2. In this Order —

“Bus Carnival at Ngee Ann City” means the event organised by the Land Transport Authority of Singapore at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza from 11 March 2016 to 13 March 2016 (both dates inclusive);

“display bus” means the bus bearing the registration number SG1098A that is to be displayed as part of the exhibition at the Bus Carnival at Ngee Ann City;

“specified footway” means the part of the footway between Orchard Road and Ngee Ann City that is shaded in the map set out in the Schedule.

Exemption

3. Rule 28(1) of the Road Traffic Rules (R 20) does not apply to —

(a)	the driving or parking of the display bus, for the purpose of the Bus Carnival at Ngee Ann City, between 7 March 2016 and 15 March 2016 (both dates inclusive); or
(b)	the driving and parking of any vehicle, that is driven with the permission of the Land Transport Authority of Singapore and that is used to tow the display bus or any other item for display at the Bus Carnival at Ngee Ann City, on the specified footway on 7 March 2016 and 15 March 2016.
