Citation |
1. These Rules may be cited as the Animals and Birds (Quarantine) Rules. |
Quarantine for all animals intended for slaughter |
Transhipment licence |
3. Any animal or bird transhipped at Singapore shall be inspected by a veterinary authority and, if the accompanying certificate of health of the animal or bird is in order, a transhipment licence may be issued at the discretion of the Director. |
Special imports |
4. Notwithstanding rule 2, the Director may issue a licence to import any animal or bird or the carcase thereof for any special purpose from any country or place, subject to such conditions as he may see fit to impose. |
Penalty |
5. Any person who contravenes rule 2 shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $500 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or to both, and to a further fine of $20 for every day during which the offence continues after conviction. |
Fees |
6. The fees set out in the Schedule shall be payable for a licence, permit, certificate or quarantine under these Rules. |
Exemption |
7. The Minister may, in his discretion, exempt any person from all or any of the provisions of these Rules. |
