Citation |
1. These Rules may be cited as the Arms and Explosives (Aircraft Exemption) Rules. |
Exemption and limits |
2. Arms and ammunition carried in any aircraft as forming part of the equipment of the aircraft or for the personal use of the crew shall subject to these Rules be exempt from the provisions of the Act provided that such arms shall not exceed one pistol, rifle or shot gun in respect of each member of the crew of the aircraft and the ammunition carried shall not exceed 25 cartridges in respect of each such pistol, rifle or shot gun. |
Commercial aircraft |
3. In the case of regular flights by a commercial aircraft the captain of the aircraft shall carry a certificate signed by him stating the number and description of arms and the description and quantity of ammunition carried by the aircraft as equipment or for the personal use of the crew in accordance with rule 2. |
Transit passengers exempted from Act |
4. Arms and ammunition carried by a transit passenger in any aircraft shall subject to these Rules be exempt from the provisions of the Act provided that a transit passenger shall on arrival at an airport in Singapore declare the arms and ammunition to the competent authority of the airport and may be required to produce the arms or ammunition for inspection. |
Safe custody of arms and ammunition carried in aircraft |
5. All arms and ammunition carried in an aircraft, whether as equipment or for the personal use of the crew or for the personal use of transit passengers in the aircraft, shall be carried in a locked and sealed receptacle provided by the aircraft and on the arrival of the aircraft at an airport in Singapore shall, if so required, be handed over to the competent authority of the airport for safe custody during the stay of the aircraft at the airport. |
“Verey” pistols exempted |
6. Nothing in the Act or in these Rules shall apply to “verey” pistols or other arms used solely for the discharge of signal lights. |
