(Commemorative Artillery Shell Casing —
Exemption from Section 13) Order 2016

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 44B of the Arms and Explosives Act, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order is the Arms and Explosives (Commemorative Artillery Shell Casing — Exemption from Section 13) Order 2016 and comes into operation on 10 March 2016.

Definitions

2. In this Order, unless the context otherwise requires —

“commemorative artillery shell casing” means a shell casing from the 21-gun salute accorded to the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew during his State funeral held on 29 March 2015;

“public place” means any place or premises to which the public or any section of the public has access as of right or by virtue of express or implied permission, whether or not on payment of a fee and whether or not access to the premises may be restricted at particular times or for particular purposes.

Exemption

3. A person specified in the first column of the Schedule is exempt from the requirement under section 13(1) of the Act in relation to the possession or control by the person of a commemorative artillery shell casing bearing the serial number specified opposite the person in the second column.

Conditions of exemption

4. The exemption in paragraph 3 is subject to the following conditions:

(a)	that the commemorative artillery shell casing is stored at all times under lock and key;
(b)	that if the commemorative artillery shell casing is displayed in a public place, the commemorative artillery shell casing is kept at all times in a locked and immovable receptacle.
