Central Provident Fund (Prescribed Amount for Medisave Account) Regulations 1994

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77(1)(j) of the Central Provident Fund Act, the Minister for Labour, after consultation with the Central Provident Fund Board, hereby makes the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Central Provident Fund (Prescribed Amount for Medisave Account) Regulations 1994 and shall come into operation on 1st April 1994.

2.—(1) Subject to paragraph (2), the prescribed amount for the purposes of section 16 of the Act is $12,000.

(2) Where a member of the Fund is a pensionable public officer or is receiving a pension under the Pensions Act [Cap. 225] or the Singapore Armed Forces Pensions Regulations [Cap. 295, Rg 9], the prescribed amount for the purposes of section 16 of the Act is $6,000.

3. The Central Provident Fund (Prescribed Amount for Medisave Account) Regulations 1993 [G.N. No. S 78/93 (Rg 22, 1994 Ed.)] are revoked.
