Employment (Recommendations for Annual Wage Increases) Notification 1996

Whereas the National Wages Council (hereinafter referred to as NWC) has made recommendations to the Government for wages increases for the period commencing on 1st July 1996 and ending on 30th June 1997 the text of which is set out in the Schedule:

And Whereas the Government has accepted those recommendations:

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 49 of the Employment Act, the Minister for Labour hereby makes the following Notification:

1. This Notification may be cited as the Employment (Recommendations for Annual Wage Increases) Notification 1996.

2. The annual wage increases which may be granted by an employer to an employee for the period commencing on 1st July 1996 and ending on 30th June 1997 shall be in accordance with the recommendations of the National Wages Council as set out in the Schedule.
