Medicines (Sale and Supply by Pharmacy) (No. 2) Notification 2001
It is hereby notified for general information that the Medicines (Sale and Supply by Pharmacy) Notification 1999 (G.N. No. S 99/99) which specifies the medicinal products which have been granted product licences under section 5 of the Act that may be sold or supplied by a pharmacy under certain circumstances is amended as set out in paragraph 2.
2. Paragraph 3 of the Medicines (Sale and Supply by Pharmacy) Notification 1999 is is amended by deleting sub-paragraph (1) and substituting the following sub-paragraphs:
“(1) Any medicinal product set out in the First Schedule is a pharmacy only medicine which may be sold or supplied —
(a)
on any premises which is a registered pharmacy; and
(b)
by a pharmacist or a person acting under the supervision of a pharmacist.
(1A) For the purposes of sub-paragraph (1)(b), the supervision of a pharmacist may be exercised —
(a)
by him in person; or
(b)
through any other means approved by the licensing authority.”.
