Merchant Shipping (Civil Liability and
Compensation for Oil Pollution) Act
(Commencement) Notification 1998
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 1 of the Merchant Shipping (Civil Liability and Compensation for Oil Pollution) Act 1998, the Minister for Communications hereby makes the following Notification:
1.  This Notification may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Civil Liability and Compensation for Oil Pollution) Act (Commencement) Notification 1998.
2.—(1)  Parts I, II and IV of the Merchant Shipping (Civil Liability and Compensation for Oil Pollution) Act 1998 shall come into operation on 18th September 1998.
(2)  Part III of the Merchant Shipping (Civil Liability and Compensation for Oil Pollution) Act 1998 shall come into operation on 31st December 1998.
