Exemption) (No. 2) Notification 2018
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 23 of the Motor Vehicles (Third-Party Risks and Compensation) Act, the Minister for Transport makes the following Notification:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Notification is the Motor Vehicles (Third-Party Risks and Compensation) (Vehicles Used for Summit between the United States of America and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea — Exemption) (No. 2) Notification 2018 and is deemed to have come into operation on 4 June 2018.
Exemption
2.—(1)  Section 3 of the Act does not apply to, or in relation to, a relevant vehicle that is driven in connection with the specified purpose.
(2)  In this paragraph —
“related activity” is an activity in Singapore involving any representative of the United States of America or the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea attending the Summit meeting;
“relevant vehicle” means a vehicle bearing any of the following vehicle identification numbers:
(a)1M1AX39YXHM036082;
(b)1M1AX39Y6HM036077;
“specified purpose” means conveying any non-citizen individual taking part at or joining in the Summit meeting or in related activities, to or from any place within Singapore;
“Summit meeting” means the series of meetings between representatives of the United States of America and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea taking place in Singapore between 10 June 2018 and 14 June 2018 (both dates inclusive), and includes any lead‑in and lead‑out activities and social events connected with the Summit meeting.
