Pensions (Pensionable Allowances) Regulations

Citation
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Pensions (Pensionable Allowances) Regulations.
Allowances
2.—(1)  The allowances which are payable as annual wage increases for the year 1978 and subsequent years pursuant to the recommendations of the National Wages Council (excluding any additional allowances constituting second tier payments) shall be pensionable allowances to be taken into account in computing any pension, gratuity or other allowance under the Act.
(2)  For the avoidance of doubt, the following payments are not pensionable allowances to be taken into account in computing any pension, gratuity or other allowance under the Act:
(a)the Variable Bonus which was paid for the years 1988 to 1991;
(b)the Annual Variable Component which is payable for the year 1992 and subsequent years; and
(c)the Non-Pensionable Variable Payment which is payable monthly for the year 1993 and subsequent years.

Application
3.  These Regulations shall apply to the grant of any pension, gratuity or other allowance under the Act only in respect of any officer who has retired from or died in the public service on and after 1st January 1982.
