Singapore Civil Defence Force Long Service and Good Conduct Medal Rules 1994 |

1. These Rules may be cited as the Singapore Civil Defence Force Long Service and Good Conduct Medal Rules 1994 and shall come into operation on 1st April 1994. |
3. A medal to be known as “The Singapore Civil Defence Force Long Service and Good Conduct Medal” may be awarded to an eligible person in recognition of his long and exemplary service and good conduct in the Singapore Civil Deference Force, subject to the minimum requirement in rule 4. |
4.—(1) An eligible person shall qualify for the award of the Medal if he has completed 12 years of continuous qualifying service.

5. The Medal or Clasp shall be awarded by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, acting in accordance with the recommendation of the Commissioner of Civil Defence. [S 228/2004 wef 20/09/2003] |
6. The name of any person to whom the Medal or Clasp is awarded shall be published in the Gazette. |
7.—(1) A person to whom the Medal or Clasp is awarded shall forfeit the Medal or Clasp —

8. The loss or destruction of a Medal or Clasp shall, if the replacement is desired, be reported by the recipient to the Commissioner of Civil Defence who may, if he is satisfied that the circumstances in which the loss or destruction occurred are such as to justify replacement, approve the replacement subject to payment made by the recipient to cover the cost of replacement thereof. No such report shall be made until 6 months after the alleged los or destruction. |
9. The Medal shall consist of a circular medal in silver measuring 3.6 centimetres in diameter and 0.3 centimetres in thickness. On the obverse side there shall be the Coat-of-Arms of the Republic of Singapore encircled by the inscriptions “CIVIL DEFENCE FORCE” on top of the Coat-of-Arms and “SINGAPORE” below the Coat-of-Arms. On the reverse side there shall be the Singapore Civil Defence Force Crest with the laurel and the scroll encircled by the inscription “LONG SERVICE AND GOOD CONDUCT”. |
10. The Medal shall be worn by the recipient on the left side of the outer garment suspended by a ribbon 3.3 centimetres in width and 5.0 centimetres in length. The ribbon shall have vertical stripes of orange, white and maroon. The colours from the right and left to the middle of the ribbon shall be orange, white, maroon and white. The width of the orange stripes shall be 0.8 centimetres, the width of the white stripe in the middle of the ribbon shall be 0.5 centimetres and the width of the maroon stripes and outer white stripes shall be 0.3 centimetres each. |
11. The Medal shall be of the design set out in the Schedule. |
