Citation and commencement |
1. These Rules may be cited as the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority Good Service Medal Rules 2013 and shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st April 2013. |
Definitions |
2. In these Rules, unless the context otherwise requires —

Designation of Medal |
3. A medal to be designated and styled the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority Good Service Medal may be awarded to an eligible person in recognition of his good, efficient and faithful service in the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority, subject to the minimum requirements in rule 4. |
Qualifying Service for Medal |
Description of Medal |
5.—(1) The Medal shall consist of a circular medal in 925 sterling silver and shall measure 36 mm in diameter and 3 mm in thickness.

Design of Medal |
6. The Medal shall be of the design set out in the Schedule. |
Wearing of Medal |
7.—(1) The Medal shall be worn by the recipient on the left side of the outer garment suspended by a ribbon measuring 33 mm in width and 50 mm in length.

Medal to be awarded by Commissioner of Immigration & Checkpoints Authority |
8. The Medal shall be awarded by the Commissioner of Immigration & Checkpoints Authority. |
Publication of awards |
9. The name of any person to whom the Medal is awarded shall be published in the Gazette. |
Forfeiture of Medal |
10.—(1) The Commissioner of Immigration & Checkpoints Authority may forfeit any Medal awarded to any person under these Rules if the person —

Replacement of Medal |
11.—(1) The loss or destruction of the Medal shall, if the replacement is desired, be reported by the recipient to the Commissioner of Immigration & Checkpoints Authority who may, if the Commissioner of Immigration & Checkpoints Authority is satisfied that the circumstances in which the loss or destruction occurred are such as to justify replacement, approve the replacement subject to payment made by the recipient to cover the cost of replacement thereof.
