Pingat Gagah Perkasa (The Conspicuous Gallantry Medal) Rules 1996 |

1. These Rules may be cited as the Pingat Gagah Perkasa (The Conspicuous Gallantry Medal) Rules 1996 and shall come into operation on 2nd August 1996. |
2. The Medal shall be designated and styled the Pingat Gagah Perkasa or the Conspicuous Gallantry Medal. |
4. The Medal shall be silver-gilt and shall consist, on the obverse side, of a four-lobed artifice with radiating lines superimposed upon 2 crossed swords. In the centre of the artifice, there shall be a five-pointed star encircled by a laurel wreath. At the base of the artifice, there shall be a scroll with the inscription “PINGAT GAGAH PERKASA”. The reverse side of the Medal shall bear the State Arms. |
5. The Medal shall be of the design as set out in the Schedule. |
6. The Medal shall be worn on the left side of the outer garment suspended by a ribbon. The ribbon shall be white with 2 purple stripes and a narrower purple stripe in the centre followed by a red stripe to each side. |
7.—(1) Where any act deserving of the award of the Medal is performed by a person to whom the Medal has already been awarded, the act may be recognised by the award of a Bar to the Medal.

8. The names of the persons to whom the Medal or a Bar thereto is awarded shall be published in the Gazette and a register of such names shall be kept in the office of the Prime Minister. |
9. The President may forfeit any Medal and Bar awarded to any person under these Rules if the person is convicted of a criminal offence or is guilty of misconduct or disloyalty to Singapore. |
10.—(1) Notification No. S 86 published in the Subsidiary Legislation Supplement to the Gazette of 19th April 1962 in so far as it relates to the Rules governing the award of the Pingat Gagah Perkasa (The Conspicuous Gallantry Medal) (hereafter referred to as the revoked Rules) is cancelled.
