Singapore University of Technology and Design
(Students’ Association and Constituent Bodies —
Exemption) Order 2021
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 10(2) of the Singapore University of Technology and Design Act, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Order is the Singapore University of Technology and Design (Students’ Association and Constituent Bodies — Exemption) Order 2021 and comes into operation on 30 March 2021.
Exemption
2.  Subject to the conditions in paragraph 3, the provisions of the Societies Act (Cap. 311) do not apply to the Singapore University of Technology and Design Students’ Association (called in this Order the Association) and its constituent bodies specified in the Schedule (each of which is called in this Order an exempted entity).
Conditions of exemption
3.  The Association and each of the exempted entities —
(a)must furnish the Registrar of Societies with the following, as the Registrar of Societies may require:
(i)information concerning the Association or the exempted entity, as the case may be;
(ii)documents, accounts and books relating to the Association or the exempted entity, as the case may be;
(b)must not use any flag, symbol, emblem, badge or insignia without the written consent of the Registrar of Societies; and
(c)must not be used —
(i)for any unlawful purpose;
(ii)for any purpose prejudicial to public peace, welfare or good order in Singapore; or
(iii)for any purpose that is incompatible with the objects and rules of the Association or the exempted entity.
