Telecommunications (Wiring Work) Regulations 2024 |

Citation and commencement |
1. These Regulations are the Telecommunications (Wiring Work) Regulations 2024 and come into operation on 1 July 2024. |

Application to be licensed installer and licensed contractor |
Telecommunication wiring installer class licence |
4.—(1) A licensed installer is authorised to personally carry out wiring work, in relation to the type of wiring specified in the application made by the licensed installer to the Authority under regulation 3(1), with effect from the date of the grant of the licensed installer’s telecommunication wiring installer class licence.

Telecommunication wiring contractor class licence |
5.—(1) A licensed contractor is authorised to carry on the business of providing wiring work, in relation to the type of wiring specified in the application made by the licensed contractor to the Authority under regulation 3(2), with effect from the date of the grant of the licensed contractor’s telecommunication wiring contractor class licence.

False or misleading information |
6. A person who provides false, misleading or inaccurate information to the Authority under regulation 3(1) or (2) shall be guilty of an offence. |
Cessation of licence |
7. A licence ceases to be valid in respect of a licensed installer or licensed contractor —

Request for inspection |
8. A user may request the Authority to inspect the wiring work carried out by a licensed installer or licensed contractor on the user’s premises to ensure that the wiring work has been carried out in accordance with the Code of Practice for Telecommunication Wiring Work. |
Refund or remission of fees |
9. The Authority may refund or remit the whole or part of any fee paid or payable under these Regulations. |
Revocation and saving |
10.—(1) Revoke the Telecommunications (Internal Wiring) Regulations 2005 (G.N. No. S 479/2005).
