Trade Marks (Excluded Day) Rules 2000

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 78 and 108 of the Trade Marks Act, the Minister for Law hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation

1. These Rules may be cited as the Trade Marks (Excluded Day) Rules 2000.

Excluded day

2. In addition to the excluded days set out in rule 80 of the Trade Marks Rules (R 1, 2000 Ed.), 26th December 2000 shall be an excluded day for all purposes under the Act and the Trade Marks Rules except for —

(a)	any inspection of the register under section 68 of the Act;
(b)	the making of any application for registration of a trade mark, not being an application in which a claim for a right of priority under section 10 or 11 of the Act is made; and
(c)	the filing of any international application for registration of a trade mark which does not contain a declaration referred to in Rule 9(4)(iv) of the Common Regulations under the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks and the Protocol Relating to that Agreement claiming the priority of an earlier filing under the Paris Convention.

Hours of business

3.—(1) For the purposes of rule 2, the Registry shall be open to the public on 26th December 2000 between 8.30 a.m. and 5.00 p.m.

(2) The Registry shall be deemed to be closed between 12.00 a.m. and 8.30 a.m. and between 5.00 p.m. and midnight on 26th December 2000.
