Work Injury Compensation (Waiver from Insurance Requirement) Notification 2008

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 23(1) of the Work Injury Compensation Act, the Minister for Manpower hereby makes the following Notification:

Citation and commencement

1. This Notification may be cited as the Work Injury Compensation (Waiver from Insurance Requirement) Notification 2008 and shall come into operation on 1st April 2008.

Waiver from insurance requirement

2. The requirement to maintain insurance under section 23(1) of the Act is waived in respect of —

(a)	the Government; and
(b)	employers of all persons with monthly earnings of more than $1,600 and who are employed otherwise than by way of manual labour.
