Citation
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Weights and Measures (Fees) Regulations.
Fees in respect of verification of weights, weighing and measuring instruments
2.  The following fees are to be paid to the Government in respect of the verification or re-verification of weights, weighing and measuring instruments:
(a)For verification or re-verification of every instrument for weighing of a capacity —
 
 
(i)50 kg and below
 
$ 3.00
(ii)thereafter for every additional 50 kg or part thereof for capacity up to 250 kg
 
$ 2.00
(iii)thereafter for every additional 50 kg or part thereof for capacity above 250 kg
 
$ 1.00
(b)For verification or re-verification of every weight of a capacity —
 
 
(i)1 kg and below
 
$ 1.00
(ii)above 1 kg and up to 5 kg
 
$ 1.50
(iii)above 5 kg and up to 10 kg
 
$ 2.00
(iv)above 10 kg and up to 20 kg
 
$ 2.50
(v)above 20 kg
 
$ 3.00
(c)For verification or re-verification of every linear measure
 
$ 2.00
(d)For verification or re-verification of every liquid measure of capacity —
 
 
(i)5 litres and below
 
$ 3.00
(ii)thereafter for every additional 5 litres or part thereof for capacity up to 25 litres
 
$ 2.00
(iii)thereafter for every additional 5 litres or part thereof for capacity above 25 litres
 
$ 1.00
(e)For verification or re-verification of every liquid measure above 1,000 litres by approved meter proving companies —
 
 
(i)1,000 litres

(ii)thereafter for every additional 50 litres or part thereof

(f)For verification or re-verification of —
 
 
(i)every petrol pump measure (the fee includes the conveyance of standard tank measures)

(ii)every other flow meter

(g)For every certificate of verification or re-verification by an inspector

Fees in respect of verification of weights, etc., outside office
3.  Where the verification or re-verification of weights, weighing and measuring instruments is carried out by inspectors and assistant inspectors of weights and measures at any place outside the Weights and Measures Office, Ministry of Trade and Industry, there shall be paid to the Government —
(a)a fee of $20 for the conveyance to that place of verification on the first 20 kg of standard weights, thereafter a fee of $6 for every additional 20 kg or part thereof standard weights, used for the purpose of the verification or re-verification of the weights and instruments for weighing;
(b)a fee of $15 for the conveyance to that place of standard tank measures used for the verification or re-verification of measures; and
(c)a fee for the transport of personnel of the Weights and Measures Office to the place of verification is calculated at the rate of $10 per visit.
Fees to be paid whether weight, etc., are correct or not
4.  The fees referred to in regulations 2 and 3 shall be paid whether or not the weights or the weighing or measuring instruments are found correct or stamped as having been verified or re-verified.
Annual licence fee
5.  The fee payable for the issue or renewal of a licence to manufacture for sale or to repair any weighing or measuring instruments for use for trade shall be $120 for each year the licence is to be or to remain in force.
