Dangerous Fireworks Notification 2003

In exercise of the powers conferred by the definition of “dangerous fireworks” in section 2 of the Dangerous Fireworks Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Notification:

Citation and commencement

1. This Notification may be cited as the Dangerous Fireworks Notification 2003 and shall come into operation on 1st April 2003.

Certain sparklers declared as dangerous fireworks

2. Any sparkler which —

(a)	comprises a tube containing pyrotechnic composition or pyrotechnic units;
(b)	is designed so that, on functioning, it propels a flame into the air on one end; and
(c)	burns in a manner resembling the pyrotechnic effects of a flare,

is declared to be a dangerous firework within the meaning of the Act.
