Homes for the Aged
(Exemption) Regulations 2023

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 19 and 20 of the Homes for the Aged Act 1988, the Minister for Social and Family Development makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Homes for the Aged (Exemption) Regulations 2023 and come into operation on 18 December 2023.

Definitions

2. In these Regulations —

“approved permanent premises” has the meaning given by section 2(1) of the Healthcare Services Act 2020;

“nursing home service” has the meaning given by paragraph 2 of the First Schedule to the Healthcare Services Act 2020.

Exemption

3. The provisions of the Act do not apply to, and in relation to, any approved permanent premises used for the provision of a nursing home service under a licence granted under the Healthcare Services Act 2020.

Revocation

4. Revoke Notification (N 1) relating to the Exemption.
