National Registration
(Composition of Offences)
Regulations 2016

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 19 of the National Registration Act, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the National Registration (Composition of Offences) Regulations 2016 and come into operation on 1 January 2017.

Compoundable offences

2. Any offence under section 16(1)(a), (b) or (d) of the Act, or regulation 17(4) or 20 of the National Registration Regulations (Rg 2), may be compounded in accordance with section 28 of the Act by —

(a)	the Commissioner; or
(b)	a registration officer appointed under section 3(4) of the Act for the purposes of section 28 of the Act.
