(Bus Layover Zone (Kembangan) —
Exemption) Order 2021
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 142 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Transport makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Order is the Road Traffic (Bus Layover Zone (Kembangan) — Exemption) Order 2021 and comes into operation on 28 February 2021.
Definitions
2.  In this Order —
“authorised omnibus” means an omnibus used for a bus service operated by a specified bus operator and which bus journey terminates at the specified bus stop;
“specified bus layover zone” means the area outlined by yellow lines, starting 3 metres from the edge of the yellow demarcated box at the specified bus stop and extending for approximately 42 metres in length;
“specified bus operator” means —
(a)a person holding a Class 1 bus service licence under the Bus Services Industry Act 2015 (Act 30 of 2015);
(b)a person authorised by a contract with the person mentioned in paragraph (a) to operate in Singapore a bus service; or
(c)the Authority;
“specified bus stop” means the bus stop located along Jalan Kembangan bearing the bus stop number 83321.
Exemption for parking at bus layover zone
3.  Rule 22(g) of the Road Traffic Rules (R 20) does not apply to a driver of an authorised omnibus parking the authorised omnibus at the specified bus layover zone.
Exemption for picking up passengers at bus layover zone
4.  Rule 29(a) of the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) (Vocational Licences and Conduct of Drivers, Conductors, Trishaw Riders and Passengers) Rules (R 8) does not apply to a driver of an authorised omnibus picking up passengers at the specified bus layover zone.
