Road Traffic (Exemption from Section 35) Order 2005
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 142 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Exemption from Section 35) Order 2005 and shall come into operation on 10th November 2005.
Exemption
2.—(1)  Section 35(1) of the Act shall not apply to any person who is a full-time national serviceman or operationally ready national serviceman enlisted in the Special Constabulary of the Special Operations Command of the Singapore Police Force, and who is in possession of a certificate or document issued to him by the competent authority of the Singapore Police Force to drive a Class 4 motor vehicle, in relation to the driving by him of such a motor vehicle in the possession of the Singapore Police Force.
(1A)  Section 35(1) of the Act does not apply to any person employed by the Singapore Police Force who holds a valid Class 3 driving licence granted under the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Driving Licences) Rules (R 27) in relation to driving —
(a)a Class 4 motor vehicle used by the Singapore Police Force as a mobile command and control post (called a division command vehicle); or
(b)a Class 4 motor vehicle used by the Crisis Negotiation Unit of the Singapore Police Force as a mobile crisis negotiation support vehicle (called a crisis negotiation unit vehicle),
where the person holds a certificate or document from the competent authority of the Singapore Police Force authorising the person to drive that vehicle.

(1B)  Section 35(1) of the Act does not apply to any police officer in the Police Security Command of the Singapore Police Force who holds a valid Class 3 driving licence granted under the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Driving Licences) Rules (R 27) in relation to driving a Class 4 motor vehicle used by the Police Security Command of the Singapore Police Force as an armoured vehicle (called a SecCom Security Vehicle), where the police officer holds a certificate or document from the competent authority of the Singapore Police Force authorising the police officer to drive that vehicle.

(2)  Section 35(2) of the Act shall not apply to the Singapore Police Force.
